Cultural Spheres is a diversity initiative that reflects global culture in the context of human stories. It is a celebration of the variety of unique cultural spheres around the globe, as well as its importance to public life.
In this digital publishing version of Cultural Spheres 2015 International Exhibition showcases several projects initiated by faculty and students from the School of Art and Design at FIT (USA), as well as from Gachon University (South Korea) and Kun Shan University (Taiwan). It introduces the concept and the importance of cultural spheres to the academic community, and demonstrates a commitment to one of the key goals of the FIT Strategic Plan: “To create a campus that is ‘purposefully diverse’ – one which, through its students, faculty and staff – reflects the pluralistic city, nation and world in which we live.” This digital version includes student interviews and interactive features to actively engage with the articles as you read them.
Cultural Spheres 2015 International Exhibition and panel discussion are made possible by a grant from the Fashion Institute of Technology President’s Diversity Fund.
